    Buck’s Corner, by Buck Merchant

She’s BACK!  Yeah!!  Mom is finally home! I have had a great summer vacation, but you know, a guy misses his Mom! She went to Colorado again and didn’t take me. Paws crossed she will next year. I could blaze those trails with the best hikers. No Labrador could even keep up with me. No way could a Lab drink and “distribute” pee mail as far and wide as I can.  Anyway, I got to stay with my Marissa.  We have a human/canine love connection. I got to snuggle on the couch with her. Her Mom, my Aunt Michelle, took me all around town. Some days I relaxed out at home, but Uncle Mike always walks and feeds me and tells me how handsome I am. Then on workdays he takes me to my office. My humans there can hardly function without me.  Here’s a good one for you – I had to get my cheeks swabbed today for a DNA test. That means I am in a national database of errant poopers.  I do not poop at work. I guess they think I am part of the algae problem in the Intracoastal.  Me?  No way.  I am not that political.  Well, that’s all for now.  Back to work guarding, greeting and power napping.
