New Ben Carson Reading Room to Open in Palm Beach County

Belle Glade, FL - Through the generosity of the Carson Scholars Fund Palm Beach County Chapter, Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) is pleased to announce the opening of a new Ben Carson Reading Room at the Excel Charter School operated by LSF. The grand opening ceremony will take place at 1:00 pm on April 22nd at the Excel Charter School, 555 SW 16th Street Belle Glade, FL 33430.

Dr. Ben Carson credits reading as being a catalyst to his success. “When I was a child, reading allowed me to discover all the opportunities that the world has to offer,” said Dr. Carson. “There are endless possibilities for students when they discover the joy of reading and learning. If children begin to challenge themselves to soak up all the information they can, they will certainly be able to reach their goals and achieve their dreams.”

“Excel Charter School is thrilled that we will be able to offer our children this unique and rewarding reading experience through the Ben Carson Reading Room,” said Dr. Beth Williams, principal of Excel Charter School. “Our school prides itself on building the next generation of leaders, and reading is crucial to tapping into the curiosity of our students and encouraging them to be avid lifelong learners and leaders.”

LSF operates a total of four Public Charter Schools across the state of Florida, including the Excel Charter School, which serves children from Kindergarten through third grade. The Excel learning model unites parental support with an effective, innovative curriculum that promotes academic achievement, creative problem-solving skills, and positive character values that encourage good citizenship and help create a well-rounded child.

This is the fourth Ben Carson Reading Room that has been sponsored by the Palm Beach County Chapter of the Carson Scholars Fund. Currently, there are 138 Ben Carson Reading Rooms serving students in 17 states and Washington, D.C. To learn more about the Carson Scholars Fund visit WWW.CARSONSCHOLARS.ORG.
