Beverly A. Tew, AICPLand Planning, Zoning, & Entitlement

Beverly A. Tew, AICPMs. Tew has more than 26-years of experience in public and private sector planning and community development management throughout Florida and the Southeast. She has extensive experience serving as an Expert Witness in FDOT, District 1.  As a public sector Community Development Official, she has developed numerous public involvement strategies for local land use and development initiatives.
Tew’s FDOT Experience includes work with the Transportation Planning Organization (TPO), Polk County, Florida.  Serving as the City of Winter Haven, Florida’s official designee to the local Metropolitan Planning Organization’s (MPO) TPO, participated in, accepted public input, and assessed information provided by transportation consultants and the general public.  Technical findings and recommendations related to proposed transportation improvement/capital projects were made by the TPO for MPO final evaluation and input.  Prior to serving on the TPO, served as a member of the MPO’s Citizen Advisory Board (CAB).
Her experience as a Project Planner includes the Florida Magplane/High Speed Rail Initiative in Lakeland, Florida. Tew was the MIT design team Project Planner for the Florida High Speed Rail Initiative. There she provided the project team with all preliminary studies related to existing land use, future land use, zoning, demographical information and land use feasibility along the proposed high speed rail alignment between Tampa, Orlando and Miami. She also participated in numerous public involvement campaigns throughout the state.
Tew served as Community Development Director for the City of Winter Haven, Florida.  There she developed and led a major city-wide public involvement program related to the City’s initiation of the Community Revitalization Program (CRA).  Tew also developed and led a major city-wide public involvement program in the update of the City’s Land Development Regulations, including the Transportation Element.
Tew received her MPA at the University of South Florida.
